Create and manage programs

Add training programs to your gym so classes, students, and syllabuses have a discipline to belong to. Programs are now set up from the consolidated Training page.

Note: Programs are now created and managed from the single Training page, alongside disciplines and belts & ranks. For the full, current setup flow, go to Settings → Training. This article covers the program-specific details.

Programs answer the question "what does this student train in?" — Adults BJJ, Kids BJJ, Yoga, Wrestling, and so on. They are completely independent of billing plans; a student can be in a program regardless of their membership status.

Add a program

  1. Go to Settings in the sidebar, then open Training.
  2. Select Add program at the top of the page. The dialog opens on the same page.
  3. Enter a Name (for example, Adults BJJ).
  4. Choose a Discipline — if the sport isn't set up at your gym yet, choosing it adds the discipline for you automatically (there is no separate "add a discipline" step).
  5. Optionally add a Description, a Minimum age / Maximum age range, and a Display order.
  6. Select Add program. The program appears immediately, nested under its discipline.

Edit a program

From the Training page, open the program's controls and adjust any field — name, description, age range, display order, or visibility — then save. The deeper Programs editor still exists for detailed edits and is linked from each program.

Choose how a program progresses

Each program either has a belts & ranks ladder or is attendance only (no belts — for CrossFit, yoga, gym floor, and so on). To add a ladder, use Make this graded on the program; to leave it attendance-only, do nothing. See Define a syllabus or belt ladder.

Managing disciplines on their own

Adding a program is the normal way to introduce a discipline. To add or remove a discipline by itself, use Manage disciplines at the top of the Training page. Removing a discipline that still has programs is blocked until you reassign or remove those programs.
