My prep link won't open or is invalid

What to do when a pre-arrival prep link shows an error, including causes such as an expired token, a miscopied link, or a guardian-versus-member mismatch, and how to request a fresh link.

A pre-arrival prep link is a secure link your gym sends so you can confirm member details, set up portal access, and sign any required waivers before the first class. If the link does not open the Complete your pre-arrival details form, something has gone wrong with the link itself.

What you will see

When a prep link is invalid or expired, the page shows This prep link is unavailable with a short description of the problem. The form does not appear.

Common causes

  • The link expired. Prep links are only valid for a set period. If you did not open the link within the allowed window, it will no longer work.
  • The link was partially copied. If you copied the link from an email, part of the URL may have been cut off or wrapped to a new line. Try opening the original email and clicking the link directly rather than copying and pasting it.
  • The wrong person opened the link. Prep links are addressed to a specific member or guardian. A link sent to a guardian cannot be used by the student, and vice versa.
  • The link was already completed. Once the prep steps are saved, the same link cannot be submitted again. If you need to update details after completion, contact your gym.

What to do

  1. Try opening the original email or message again and click the link directly. Do not copy and paste the URL.
  2. If the error persists, contact your gym and let them know the prep link is not working.
  3. Ask the gym to send a fresh prep link. The gym's staff can issue a new one from the admin panel.
  4. When you receive the new link, open it promptly and complete all steps in one session.

If you are unsure which program or class you enrolled for, the gym's public schedule page at basecontrol.co/s/your-gym shows the current timetable and contact details.
